Where can you buy Black Contacts?

There are a few different styles you can pick out when shopping for black contacts. It can depend on why exactly you want colored contacts in the first place. With black contacts, you will find that almost everyone buys them for shock value, costumes or Halloween. Occasionally someone will buy them simply to wear them day to day but this is definitely less common.

Typically, someone who wears black contacts is going as something evil, such as a Vampire or Demon of some sort. Here we can go over some of the more popular types of colored contacts to get you familiar with them.

When dealing with black colored contacts, the most common style is going to be solid black, theatrical contacts. These will cover the entire eye, including the Sclera and Iris. It will make a great look for a demon or evil creature, and importantly will not make your vision any darker or tinted. Basically it will be a one way mirror, where they can’t see your real eye, but everything looks fine to you.

When dealing with colored contacts you might also find tinted colors, or enhancement tints, which will basically tint your natural eye color, but these are not as common in more unusual colors like red, yellow, etc and especially not in black. It’s not to say that you can’t find some black tinted color contacts, but they would be the exception, and not the rule.

Fortunately, you can get black sclera contact lenses with vision correction, so you don’t have to walk around with bad eye-sight while pulling off your new look. What good is a black-eyed demon or vampire with bad eye sight? Ironically, since vampires can turn into bats, being blind might actually make it more realistic, but I digress.

When you do finally decide you want black contact lenses for yourself, you will need to make you go down a virtual checklist of items to make sure you are getting the right ones. Firstly, make sure that black is the color you want. As I’ve stated before, if you are planning on wearing these colored contacts every day, black probably won’t be your first choice, but if you still want it, make sure that you go with an extended wear, and if you need vision correction, make sure you get the proper prescription so you can avoid any complications.

You will also need to make sure you order the right size and fit of contacts. While most people can wear the same sizes with no problems, kind of like hats and “one size fits all”, contacts are the same way, but it still doesn’t hurt to know your curve and diameter of your eyes, just to make sure you get the best possible fit you can get.
